High School 101 The Basics
by Lynn Johnson
Ring! Ring! Ring! There goes your alarm clock going off. As you slowly reach up to turn it off, you notice that it reads 6 a.m. That only means two things, summer is officially over and you need to get up and get ready for school before you are late. Does this sound like you? Every year this is what happens to me and that is why I’m glad that this is my final year. High school is going to go by fast and it is going to get hard at times so here is some advice to help you get through the years.
Freshmen-don’t listen to the “ scary stories” that you may have heard. For instance, that seniors will shove you into lockers and they shove your head into the toilet. THEY ARE NOT TRUE. They just tell you those things to scare you. Just stay focused and try to stay out of trouble. It’s your first year in high school. Make your first impression a good one.
Sophomores-you have taken another step into growing up and maturing. Continue to stay focused and work hard. It will all work out in the end. Try new things and expand your horizons. Things are going to change. Learn to accept the change and try to make it a good change.
Juniors-this is your most important year. This year you should start thinking about your future. Also this year you should take your SAT or ACT tests because if you are not satisfied with your results then you can retake them as many times as you want to. This year is going to go by fast and probably be one of your best years in high school.
Seniors-Class of 2011!!!!! You have finally made it. This is your last and final year at high school. I bet you are very excited because I am. This year is going to go by real fast. Soon you will be walking across the stage to accept your diploma. Enjoy this last year and make it memorable. This may be the last time you may see your friends.
